The challenge

Ten airport-inspired challenges. One spectacular zipline finale.

Canberra's Amazing Raise brings together teams of four from across the Canberra business, government and community sectors for a fast-paced day of teamwork, competition and fundraising at Brindabella Park. Your team will race through ten airport-inspired challenges before taking on a spectacular zipline finale across Canberra Airport.

In partnership with Canberra Airport

Building on the success of the Big Wig Challenge, Canberra's Amazing Raise transforms the experience into an action-packed team event designed for workplaces, community groups and friends.

But the greatest achievement will happen beyond the course.

The reason

Every dollar stays close to home.

Every dollar your team raises for Canberra Hospitals Foundation will help provide more comfort, advance local research, support innovative healthcare and strengthen the connection between our hospitals and the community they serve.

Funds raised will support CHF to create a better healthcare experience for local patients, families and health teams by:

  • Giving comfort

    When hospital feels overwhelming.

  • Powering research

That can change lives here and beyond.

  • Shaping tomorrow

Through equipment, innovation and new models of care.

  • Building community

Around patients and families when they need it most.

Why enter a team

A day out of the office your team will still be talking about in March.

Canberra's Amazing Raise is an opportunity to:

  • Strengthen teamwork outside the usual workplace environment
  • Give you and your team a shared goal and a memorable experience
  • Demonstrate your organisation's commitment to the Canberra community
  • Engage clients, colleagues and supporters in your fundraising
  • Build healthy competition with other Canberra organisations
  • Make a meaningful difference for patients and families across our public health services

The commitment

What it takes to enter a team.

Four things to line up between saying yes and the start line.

The nerve centre

Control Tower · Central Hub

Event comms, MC and the live leaderboard. Home of the Air Miles "Long Haul" tally board, with registration overflow, first aid and the water refuelling point alongside.

  • Passport Check-In

  • Airport Code Match

Match airport codes to their cities. SYD, CBR, LAX, LHR and a few that will catch you out.

  • Inflatable Obstacle Course

A timed inflatable relay lane. Every participant races through in turn, and it resets fast.

    Station 3
  • Ground Crew Relay

An obstacle relay carrying precious cargo safely to the aircraft. Soft toys, cones and mini hurdles.

    Station 4
  • The Big Foot Racer Relay

Oversized novelty foot-racers, two teams at a time. It bridges the ground crew relay and the zip line, right where the day needs a lift.

    Station 5
  • Flight Training

Pool-noodle javelin through the runway zones. Perfect runway, near runway, restricted zone.

    Station 6
  • Flight Path Challenge

Launch a rubber Canberra Airport model plane through the airport target zones. Scored on accuracy, distance and target.

    Station 7
  • Air Miles Challenge

Row or ride to collectively "fly" a real route. Your metres feed the day-long Long Haul target: Canberra to LAX is 12,300km.

    Relay + long haul
  • The Zip Line

The hero ride. Dual lane, two riders at a time, harness and helmet, qualified operator, running all day from the Control Tower down to the touchdown podium.
